Giving away corporate gifts is a great way to keep your brand at the top of customers’ mind and to engage with them. While there’s no doubt about the effectiveness of a gifted program in helping you connect better with your customers, the program gives best results if you do careful planning. Your choice has much bearing, perhaps more than any other factor, on the success of your gift program, so choose wisely.
Here are some tips to pick a right gift, one that your customers will be pleased to receive and use again and again, and each time they will use it, they will but see your logo.
Tip #1 – Pick items that are suitable for your gift program
What purpose do you want to achieve through your gift program? Who will be receiving the gift? Check these questions before you invest in a gift.
Companies run gift programs for different purposes, and so different gifts are suitable for various programs.
For instance, if you want to give a gift to all visitors who visit your booth at a local trade show, obviously you would want to give something inexpensive yet useful and with large imprint space for displaying your logo.
For such a program, beer or wine coolers, sports water bottles, or coffee mugs are a good choice. All these items are not expensive and have a large imprint space.
On the other hand, if you want to send out a gift to particular clients during Christmas, a premium wine bottle with a personalized card message will be a good idea.
Tip#2 – Pick items which are reusable
Unless you are running a gifted program for a few clients, it is best to pick an item which your customers will use again and again. The more your customers will use the gift, the greater will be their exposure to your brand. Some top everyday gift items are laptop bags, coffee tumblers, flasks, stationary holders, key chains, mobile covers, etc.
Tip#3 – Pick something which the receiver would love
If the gifted program is exclusive for only some clients, why not do some homework and give each client something that he or she would love to receive. Giving personalized gifts is the best way to show the person you value your relationship with him or her—and they go a long way in making a person feel special.
For instance, if you have a client who loves football, why not gift him tickets to a Sunday game? The client will appreciate the gift as well as the thought behind it. On the other hand, if you have a client who loves a particular wine, gift him his favourite bottle.
Such a gift will show the client that you care about his or her preferences and are ready to walk the extra mile to keep him or happy.
When giving a personalized gift, make sure it does not have your company’s logo on it. Additionally, the best thing to do is give the gift personally. You might want to include a note, preferably hand-written, with the gift.
